The Trafford Consortium has changed their exam provider to FSCE (Future Stories) for the exams 2027 forward. This is a big change from the exam type we are used to. No more verbal or non-verbal reasoning, and all based on maths and English with creative writing.

This does not affect the exam this coming September.
11 Plus Trafford provides your son or daughter with 40 weeks tuition in all subjects that are tested in the grammar school entrance exams here in Trafford.
From this September, I will be teaching on the new style of exam, which will be based on the year five curriculum mathematics and English.
Subjects Studied:
Mathematics : Much of what is needed will be taught in school. However, there may be gaps in their learning which I can fill in and make sure that each child is well-versed in all aspects of maths. Sometimes, it is a matter of confidence when maths is weak. I can help build confidence in the subject and prove to all children that maths can be fun! Both multiple choice questions and written questions are used in the exam.
English: Comprehension and spelling/grammar/word choice. A good grasp of comprehension, a wide vocabulary, and the ability to spot spelling and punctuation mistakes are required for this exam.
Creative Writing: Writing a story can be tricky, but it also can be practiced. In the exam, the children will be given a prompt sentence and be asked to plan and then write a piece of creative writing. So, get practicing their handwriting!
